If both or one of the parents is a Chinese citizen and resides in a foreign country, and the applicant who wants to come to China as a foreign student for undergraduate study has foreign nationality by birth, then the applicant must have a record of actual residence in a foreign country for more than 2 years within the last 4 years (as of April 30, 2023). (Nine (9) months of actual residence in a foreign
country can be counted as one year, subject to the entry and exit seal stamps).
If a Chinese citizen after emigrating abroad applies to come to China as a foreign student for undergraduate study, then they shall hold a valid foreign passport or certificate of nationality for more than 4 years, and a record of actual residence in a foreign country for more than 2 years within the last 4 years (as of April 30, 2023). (Nine (9) months of actual residence in a foreign country can be counted as one year, subject to the entry and exit seal stamps).

The funding requirement shall be calculated according to the annual basic expenses (tuition, accommodation, living expenses, insurance, etc.) of the program. The total amount of credit on creditworthiness certificate per program shall be more than 39000 RMB. It is required to deposit the corresponding amount in its own account for at least 1 month. In case another person ’ s account is used, it is required to provide a certificate justifying the relationship between the applicant and the account owner. At the same time, the certificate should be notarized by local authorities and verified by a Chinese embassy or consulate abroad.Tips:
For applicants who are in China: If you are an employee, you still need to provide employment separation certificate and your current residence permit.
